Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), is an Indian law enforcement agency responsible for combating drug trafficking and the abuse of controlled substances in the country. The agency was established in 1986 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, which is a comprehensive law that regulates the manufacture, distribution, and consumption of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in India.
The NCB operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Home Affairs and works closely with other law enforcement agencies like the Customs and other police forces.
